"How Good Is Good?" an article written by Stefan Sagmeister, provides points to enriching ones life as a person and designer. The tone in his article is written for an easy read but brings up important topics and mindsets we should have. He often refers to priorities he has. At the beginning of the article he list three reasons for being alive and reasons to "get out of bed in the morning". At first his list goes like this...
1. Strive for happiness
2. Don’t hurt anybody
3. Help, others achieve the same

To create a better list he changes the priority of the reasons on the list

1. Help others
2. Don’t hurt anybody
3. Strive for happiness

I like that he has changed his mindset and is always looking for a way for the greater good of society as well as benefitting himself.
A question I would pose to sagmeister would be why so kind so humanity, instead of being selfish like many humans and designers? He is always trying to find the solution for everyone not just one.

I believe Sagmeister is so popular because his designs are amazing and he can really relate to the majority of the public. I enjoy his writing and design and am eager to see more for him.

Bruce Mau is a world famous graphic designer. He attended school at Ontario College of Art and Design. He didn't end up graduating but pursued his talent at Fifty Fingers, a design firm. After a few years of working at Fifty Fingers Bruce decided travel to England for a short stay of a year and then returned to Canada and founded Public Good Design and Communications.

Bruce Mau is an important designer because he focuses on the good and stays positive. I admire this because the world can make people so jaded and Bruce Mau doesn't even focus on the negative.

The mantra I have decide to follow is...

12. Keep moving.
The market and its operations have a tendency to reinforce success. Resist it. Allow failure and migration to be part of your practice.

I choose this mantra because when designing I tend to get hung up on the smallest flaws and try to correct them before I try something else.. which in turn slows me down and does't let me come up with as many solutions as I would of liked to.
