journal four

Bruce Mau is a world famous graphic designer. He attended school at Ontario College of Art and Design. He didn't end up graduating but pursued his talent at Fifty Fingers, a design firm. After a few years of working at Fifty Fingers Bruce decided travel to England for a short stay of a year and then returned to Canada and founded Public Good Design and Communications.

Bruce Mau is an important designer because he focuses on the good and stays positive. I admire this because the world can make people so jaded and Bruce Mau doesn't even focus on the negative.

The mantra I have decide to follow is...

12. Keep moving.
The market and its operations have a tendency to reinforce success. Resist it. Allow failure and migration to be part of your practice.

I choose this mantra because when designing I tend to get hung up on the smallest flaws and try to correct them before I try something else.. which in turn slows me down and does't let me come up with as many solutions as I would of liked to.
